The hotel was beautiful inside - much better than expected. However it is in downtown LA so 10 metro stops from Hollywood and most tourist attractions. Public transport isn't great in LA so being centrally located is important.

Convenient location to get around Los Angeles, with short distance travel provided by the hotel shuttle service and easy-to-reach local public transport.
Center of local attractions with most within short distances.
Attractive lobby decorations.

Good location - close walk to main train station in LA where you can get to any part of the city you want. Definitely recommend staying here for pre-tour departure.
